Bandit Attack in Katsina Leaves 13 Dead

The Katsina State Police Command has confirmed that 13 people were killed in an attack by armed bandits in Doma community, located in Tafoki Ward of Faskari Local Government Area.

DSP Abubakar Sadiq, the Public Relations Officer of the Command, stated that the Commissioner of Police, Bello Shehu, condemned the attack and has directed the deployment of resources to investigate the incident and apprehend those responsible.

According to the police, a distress call was received on February 3, 2026, around 2:00 PM, reporting that armed bandits had attacked Doma village, firing sporadically and wielding dangerous weapons. The Faskari Divisional Police Officer quickly mobilized personnel in collaboration with the military and the Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC) to respond.

Tragically, the assailants killed 13 people before security forces arrived. The authorities have since restored normalcy in the community, and investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances of the attack and bring the perpetrators to justice.

The Commissioner of Police expressed condolences to the victims’ families and reiterated his commitment to deploying additional resources to ensure a thorough investigation. Further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
