How do we avoid being characterised as an NGO enabling American interests, considering global geopolitical competition and rare-earth minerals? If you had the ear of the President of Nigeria today, what would you advise him to say in a meeting with Donald Trump? Does this mean the U.S. will take action against Nigeria? Why are there conflicting narratives about Trump’s intention to intervene to stop the killing of Christians? Is it really about oil or other interests? How can the US President intervene in a way that protects Christians without provoking Muslims or traditional worshippers? Should Donald Trump also sanction his allies in the Middle East who may be indirectly funding extremism? Should attention be focused on Middle Eastern financing of terror, and how do we direct US attention to that? Why has Donald Trump focused on Christian Persecution only? Why is the US only taking action now regarding some of the killings in Nigeria?

Answer

Answers to this type of question can only be speculative and even distract from seeking solutions we ourselves can work out. The US government, under the now defunct USAID, spent hundreds of millions of dollars in the promotion of peace and dialogue, education, etc. Nothing tangible came out of those efforts.  Certainly, the message should be unity, not division— protecting human life and freedom for everyone, regardless of belief.
