WITH OVER 20 MILLION NIGERIAN CHILDREN CURRENTLY DENIED ACCESS TO EDUCATION, IT’S TIME FOR CHANGE
It is deeply concerning to learn about the recent increase in terrorist attacks targeting schools in Nigeria.
The abduction of innocent students for ransom and the ruthless killing of teachers is profoundly tragic.
This crisis further compounds the already critical state of education in Nigeria, leaving over 20 million young people without access to their fundamental right to education. It is disconcerting that, despite these grave challenges, the UK Government has recently signed a £7 billion trade deal with Nigeria.
We urge the authorities to prioritize addressing security concerns and to work towards restoring a secure and conducive learning environment for these vulnerable children.
