That’s why we are developing a Sustainable Farming Initiative—a programme designed to provide displaced farmers with the resources, security, and support they need to rebuild their livelihoods.

As part of the UK government’s ongoing consultation on its future relationship with Nigeria and Africa, PSJ UK has been actively engaging in discussions to ensure that faith-based and diaspora perspectives are included in shaping this policy direction.

Nigeria remains grappling with the complexities of a justice system that often fails those most vulnerable. The case of Sunday Jackson, a farmer sentenced to death for an act of self-defence, underscores these deep-seated challenges. His conviction, arising from an altercation with a herdsman in 2015, not only highlights the volatile nature of farmer-herder conflicts but also raises urgent and critical questions about due process and judicial fairness in Nigeria.

As a Community Engagement Volunteer at PSJ UK, you will play a vital role in strengthening our connection with the Nigerian community in the UK and beyond. You will engage with our audience, foster meaningful discussions, and mobilise support for our advocacy campaigns and events.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with Nigerian communities, groups, and organisations in the UK.
• Organise and facilitate online and in-person engagement activities, such as discussions, events, and awareness campaigns.
• Actively participate in PSJ UK’s online platforms, responding to comments and encouraging discussions.
• Work with the communications team to amplify our message and reach new audiences.
• Support PSJ UK's advocacy and fundraising initiatives by mobilising community members.

About the Role

As a Social Media Volunteer, you will support our communications team in managing and growing our online presence. You will help create, schedule, and monitor content across our social media platforms to increase engagement, raise awareness, and drive action.

Key Responsibilities
